Prêmio Emmy conquistou o seriado "24 horas"

O prêmio Emmy 2006 foi conquistado pelo seriado "24 Horas", que saiu vencedor nas categorias de melhor série dramática e melhor ator, com Kiefer Sutherland (foto), após quatro anos de seguidas candidaturas. Apesar de badalada, a série não era a favorita na categoria e sim o drama médico 'Grey's Anatomy', que saiu da noite sem nenhum prêmio nas categorias principais.

Outra grande surpresa da noite foi a vitória de 'Elizabeth I' na categoria Melhor Minissérie, sendo que a favorita era 'Into the West', que liderava com 16 indicações. Outra decepção foi a falta de reconhecimento da atualmente extinta série 'A Sete Palmos' (Six Feet Under), que voltou para casa de mãos vazias.

A série "The Office" que faz uma sátira aos relacionamentos no ambiente de trabalho,
levou o prêmio de melhor seriado de comédia, batendo seus rivais "Arrested Development", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Scrubs" e "Two and a Half Men".

As apostas nos vencedores do Emmy se mostraram equivocadas com a premiação de melhor atriz em série dramática, que foi para Mariska Hargitay por seu trabalho em "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit".

Outra surpresa foi a vitória de Tony Shalhoub, que obteve o terceiro Emmy de sua carreira como melhor ator em uma comédia, por seu trabalho interpretando o detetive em "Monk".

Como melhor atriz de comédia, as apostas foram confirmadas com a premiação da veterana atriz Julia Louis-Dreyfus, conhecida por seu trabalho em "Seinfeld", que obteve a vitória com sua nova série "The New Adventures of Old Christine".

Três dos quatro prêmios concedidos aos melhores atores coadjuvantes tanto em drama como em comédia foram para atores de seriados que não estão mais em exibição.

Entre eles está o prêmio de Alan Alda como melhor ator coadjuvante por "The West Wing".

Com a vitória, "The West Wing" passou a ser o drama com maior número de premiações na história do Emmy, com 26 conquistas.

Outros premiados foram Blythe Danner como melhor atriz coadjuvante em "Huff!", que foi cancelada, além de Megan Mullally por "Will & Grace", comédia que também não está mais no ar.

Jeremy Piven obteve o prêmio de melhor ator coadjuvante em série de comédia com "Entourage".

A 58ª edição do Emmy Awards aconteceu neste domingo (27), direto do Shrine Auditorium, em Los Angeles, Estados Unidos.
